For The Beginner: First Things First
Just start at the beginning, right?
Well, maybe, and maybe not. It depends on your time, purpose, and understanding.
Like an exhaustive, authoritative manual, the Bible contains a great deal of
information that may not be immediately interesting and relevant for your goal. It is all
interesting, and it is certainly all relevant; however, you may find that the part of
immediate interest to you is several hundred pages from the beginning of the book. It is
certainly better to read something you understand and that impacts your life today than to
begin at the beginning and lose interest before getting to a part that you understand and
that might forever change you.
Read it all. Didnt I just say not to do that? No, I said that you may
not want to begin by reading it all. But you should certainly read it all.

For The Disciple: Developing Daily Discipline
... You can know the Bible and still not be a disciple, but you cannot be a disciple
without knowing the Bible! It is the very written Word of God; written to tell us about
him, his plans and purpose, and his desires for us, his followers.
As disciples, we should become familiar with the Bible, and spend time in it each
day. The more we know the Bible, we better we can know God. And the better we know God,
the more we will appreciate His Word, the Bible. So, as Jesus disciples, lets
begin

... Lets review the principles and warnings weve learned so far:
- Principle of inspiration
- Principle of progressive revelation
- Principle of continual personal growth
- Caution: to embrace all that the Bible teaches on a
particular topic
- Caution: to be gracious in disagreement
